phew, ujan yang tak berhenti-henti causing flood!!! walawe, punye r heavy tahap cipan gunung then tibe2 je satu johor tenggelam.. owang kate ni tsunami kecil, ntah ar, tapi syukur r umah aku tak kene, still scare gak r coz klu ujan memang uma aku air attack tapi kali ni kering! kawasan yang teruk ter-effect (skali lagi aku wat inggris baru) adelah taman sri jaya, sawah ring, kampung2 kat dalam, sengkang, gersik, panchor, and somewhere dedekat area2 kundang r.. this is the worst flood i ever seen in my life, and here some pictures that i took on that day. kina told me that her refrigerator terbalik weh!! punye r dasat. still after a few days air tak surut2 lagi. my lovely school - ye ke? da tenggelam gak, and banyak sampah r. yesterday i saw a news a very interesting headline - 3000 tonnes rubbish at segamat. hehe. baru segamat, kalau campur tolak smue satu johor, mau banyak gileeeeeeeeeeee... aiya, stinky johor. pastu hampeh lak tak de elektrik n air!! arghhh, da ar keje skul lom ciap lagik, melambak2 lak tu, nak angkut air lagi, nak idopkan generator lagi, lilin lagi, isik minyak lagi, nak pam tandas lagi, mandi lagi arrrrr... susah wei.. smuenye ala kadar je. tulisan aku dalam buku tu pun tonggang tebalek, ntah rasenye ala-ala doktor ar wakakaka.... pastu tak lame tu karen da ade ar tapi still sampai skang air tak de. aku memang salute ar kat cina bukit gambir ni, very2 hardworking n generous!! diorang pnye persatuan - MCA g korek perigi kat simpang sengkang! what a brilliant idea! pastu keluar la punca mata air tu and air dari situ ar sampai skang di gunakan untuk keperluan harian! syabas untuk korang! thanxz, arigato, hurra!! paps gi r ulang alek angkut air, penat wei. dia cakap fariq n family gi angkut air gak kat situ, walawe, smue warge bukit gambir kekurangan air!! and tadi baru dengar kat radio cakap ujan sampai 1 januari,, aiseh, ini menakutkan!!! chow.

Dai Li Ren ~ A Good Actor is also Creative

In forth coming TV serial {The Hospital}, Dai Li Ren plays a driven and ambitious surgeon ~ Qiu Qing Cheng. In the show, he is creates opposition and initiates drama competing in the power struggle and wielding manipulative tactics. In reality, he was in closely involved in the productions as he has a vast experience in stage, movie performances and directing as well.

Through this interview, readers are able to peek into this astute actor＊s angle in playing a character. His intense involvement in production and the sheer possibilities of our local cinematic property.

Not Only Just An Actor

Dai Li Ren said, "This is my first in trying to act a character with such depth. So I have also been more cautious."

In comparison, a stage performance would need at most 2 months of rehearsals. A movie is about half a year but for "The Hospital", he had put in 8 to 9 months of dedication. In the show, he plays the outstanding surgeon, Qiu Qing Cheng, who pits himself against another surgeon, Su Yi Hua played by Jerry Yan. Both the male leads have many an exciting scene together.

He is known to be fastidious about script selection. In fact, he rejected Director Chai Yue Xun's initial invitation. The reason was that the character is not the type that he had in mind. A worry of his was that his perception of the character might be different from the actual. Yet Director Chai was adamant and waited a whole year for him. Thus after many communicative efforts, it paid off.

Equally demanding and a perfectionist in details, Director Chai understood Dai Li Ren's multi-talents in writing, directing and acting. He gave Dai Li Ren more than 100% freedom in his acting. Changing all his lines, developing the other characters in reference to the novel and assisting in the conceptualizing the theme for the script. Besides these, he organized all the composition of the characters, many a time he gave advice to the Director during filming too. If not for fear of interruption, I would love to help out at the Editing Room.

Why would an actor need to take such trouble, to be involved in every aspect? Perhaps it is his determination to be creative and dedicated in the completion of the entire process.

Lines Are An Actor's Creative Space

Whether it is the stage, movies or TV, Dai Li Ren will definitely have to change his own lines before he feels that he has done sufficient character preparation. "The script only provides a foundation. Since my early days in the Art Institute, I have understood that even if the script was by Shakespeare, simply memorizing by rote is really silly. There are disparities in the time setting, the nationalities and more importantly the actors are not the same so the acting and language expressions will not be similar."

"This is when a good actor is needed", Dai Li Ren stated. "A good actor is also creative and he will be able to express the emotions suitable to character as written in the script."

To Portray The Character From The "Doctor-Patient Relationship"

During the filming of "The Hospital", Dai Li Ren was very much immersed in the character's development and the scripting of the scenes. He emphasized that different doctors have various ways of treating sicknesses. This stems from their professional training. "The Internal Medicine and Surgical Departments are fundamentally different in their looking at illnesses. If considerations are not given as to how a doctor's judgments would vary due to his professional training and the system on the whole, and how this in turn affects his character, how he faces problems then it is over-simplifying Good and Evil. The character would come across as flat and superficial."

"I'll use the crudest way to explain this. The two male leads 每 I play Doctor Qiu Qing Cheng who is stubborn and intrigued about ＆solving illness＊. So his judgment might be viewed as cold and lacking in human concern. The Su Yi Hua played by Jerry Yan is just the opposite. He sees matters from a ＆human＊ standpoint. He feels to cure illness, you must start from the person himself.＊ In Dai Li Ren＊s viewpoint, ＆There is no absolute Good and Evil. We are all the same. To live in this world, we each need to have a certain attitude, to believe that it is his own and to work hard at developing it. A bad guy like that would merit our attention and thus is worthy of our spending some time to try to understand him.＊

Dai Li Ren doesn＊t feel that Qiu Qing Cheng should be marked as the ＆Bad Guy＊ in the show. ＆Though he might be embroiled in the power struggle but it is not because he is bad. Conversely in his mind, he has his own ideal, perfect world.＊

He puts it plainly, ＆Be the power struggle in the medicine or corporate world, everyone would have a blue-print for their goals in their lives. So each would give their all to pursue and would step-by-step be closer to it in their minds＊＆Beautiful, New World＊. So I use this attitude to act out the character. Qiu Qing Cheng does not have ill-intentions and he never wanted to actually. That is why throughout the entire process he often feels very tired. From a certain angle, it is to enable things to be done in a better way. Yet compromise is necessary and in the end one has to ask, ＆What is the ideal world in your mind?'

Therefore is the Ideal World still there in the minds of the characters? In the Realistic World, how would it be? Dai Li Ren ponders and adds, ＆I feel that Qiu Qing Cheng＊s Ideal World is always existent. He wants to revolutionize the structure of the Medical World and so he needs greater capabilities and more power, So this is the beginning of the Power Struggle.＊

San Marino Result Pnye Story

For a while Ferrari’s grip on the San Marino Grand Prix looked tenuous, after Michael Schumacher had initially built up a lead after sprinting away at the start. By the time he pitted for fuel on lap 20, arch-rival Fernando Alonso had worked his way up to second place, and then took the lead until his own stop on lap 25. Schumacher just beat him for the lead as Alonso rejoined, but then the Spaniard began to put the Ferrari under massive pressure. If he could keep up this pace, it seemed, victory would be assured by the next fuel stops. It wasn’t to be.

Schumacher said that he lost pace in the second stint because of tyre graining and a problem on the car that he did not elect to identify, and began lapping up to two seconds off the pace as a frustrated Alonso got bottled up behind him. Now instead of a festival of pure speed it had become a chess game. Who would pit first? The answer finally came on lap 41 when Alonso suddenly sprinted into the pit lane. After a 6.7s stop he was back out again. Schumacher, meanwhile, was suddenly able to catch backmarkers Nick Heidfeld and Scott Speed, whom he had apparently been unable to catch earlier on. But any hope in the Renault camp that they might impede their rival ended when Schumacher swept outward on lap 42, after remaining stationary for 7.1s.

Both teams had changed their strategy to pit early, and this time Schumacher just got out of the pit lane before Alonso arrived at Tamburello, setting up a finish that was a reverse carbon copy of last year’s race. Lap after lap Alonso gave Schumacher no breathing space, but as Michael appreciated last season, Imola is a tricky place to pass a determined rival. Alonso got partially alongside on one lap, but when he slid over a kerb and ran wide exiting Villeneuve on lap 59, the great chase was over. He settled back to the second place that Renault had already agreed would be acceptable, and wisely preserved his championship lead.

An ecstatic Schumacher, already the new pole record holder after qualifying, sped on to the 85th victory of his career and his first since the ‘Bridgestone-only’ US Grand Prix in 2005, and his first against a full field since Japan in 2004.

Behind them, a very long first stint helped McLaren’s Juan Pablo Montoya to third place ahead of a challenging Ferrari of Felipe Massa, who had Kimi Raikkonen right behind him in the second McLaren as the three of them crossed the line.

Mark Webber brought his Williams home sixth after a good run, aided again by a long first stint. Jenson Button should have finished a lot better than seventh for Honda, but had another unhappy race. He was the second leading runner to refuel (on lap 15, a lap after team mate Rubens Barrichello), and later had a disaster when he was signalled prematurely to rejoin after his second stop on lap 30. The lollipop man signalled him to go, then changed his mind as he saw that the refuelling hose was still connected. By then Button was already on his way and got swiped on the head by the lollipop as it was hurriedly lowered again. He stopped a few feet beyond his pit garage as team members ran to retrieve the now broken fuel nozzle from the car, and he finally resumed after the delay, dropping from third to eighth place. His third stop went okay on lap 44, but it was another disappointing result for him and the team.

The final point went to Giancarlo Fisichella, who started 11th with a full Renault tank and sat it out in the pack until things improved as others stopped.

Ralf Schumacher was the only other driver apart from Button to opt for three stops, but could not quite squeeze enough performance from his Toyota to score a point. He headed home a disappointed Rubens Barrichello in the Honda, Williams’ Nico Rosberg, and Jacques Villeneuve and Nick Heidfeld in their BMW Saubers. Vitantonio Liuzzi spun from 16th place down to 18th behind Red Bull team mates Scott Speed and Christian Klien after running off at Variante Alta on the fifth lap, but a tigering drive brought him home 14th, ahead of Speed. Tiago Monteiro was 16th for Midland.

Neither Klien, nor David Coulthard, finished the race. The Austrian struggled with his Toro Rosso team mates before retiring on lap 41 with an hydraulic problem, while the Scot disappeared on lap 48 with a broken driveshaft.

Neither Super Aguri made it home either. Yuji Ide prompted deployment of the safety car on the opening lap after shoving Christijan Albers’ Midland into a barrel roll in Turn Six. The Dutchman was unhurt, while after a lengthy stop for repairs Ide later rejoined but spun off at Variante Alta with suspension damage after 23 laps. Following the race, Ide was officially reprimanded over the Albers incident by the race stewards.

Team mate Takuma Sato stopped on lap 45, interrupting the team’s finishing record. Jarno Trulli was the other retirement, driving his Toyota into the pits with a steering problem after only five laps when he was running eighth.

The race puts Ferrari back into contention for a championship that has 14 races left. “The championship had never really gone away even after two difficult races,” Schumacher said, “but now it’s looking two points better and there is a long way to go.”

Michael Schumacher set the pace in the third and final practice session ahead of qualifying this afternoon at Imola. The Ferrari driver, chasing a record 66th career Pole Position, recorded a best lap of 1:23.787s, three-tenths ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Alonso may not have an answer to Schumacher’s pace in simulated qualifying trim but he was three-tenths clear of team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella in the second Renault. Felipe Massa was fourth fastest in the second Ferrari while Kimi Raikkonen was fifth fastest in his McLaren Mercedes, albeit 0.8s a lap off Schumacher pace.

It was a tough session for McLaren as Juan Pablo Montoya only completed an installation lap before returning to the pits. The MP4-21 was places on the stands and the team commenced fixing a mechanical problem. Montoya therefore heads ‘blind’ into qualifying having not completed any low fuel running.

Toyota continue their impressive weekend with Ralf Schumacher sixth fastest while Jenson Button was next up in his Honda, just over a second off the ultimate pace. Jacques Villeneuve was eighth fastest in his BMW Sauber ahead of the leading Red Bull Ferrari of Christian Klien. Tonio Liuzzi survived two off track excursions in his Toro Rosso and recorded the tenth best time.

Rubens Barrichello was 11th in the second Honda while Mark Webber took the 12th fastest time. Team-mate Nico Rosberg showed his Rookie colours as he went off on the approach to Tosa, damaging the front end of his FW28. Rosberg was 19th fastest.

David Coulthard was 13th in the second RB2 ahead of Scott Speed and Nick Heidfeld. Christijan Albers was just over two seconds off the ultimate pace in his MF1 Toyota but he was faster than the similarly powered Jarno Trulli and team-mate Tiago Monteiro who is having a difficult weekend at Imola.

Takuma Sato was 20th in Super Aguri Honda while team-mate Yuji Ide had three spins and was just over a second slower than Sato.

It seems we have a Schumacher-Alonso battle today for the Pole Position. Schumacher will be pushing hard to claim his 66th Pole Position and perhaps it would be fitting if the new record came at Imola, the scene of Ayrton Senna’s tragic death 14 years ago.
